Lantern for Lost Voices was founded by four individuals dedicated to amplifying the voices of the community.

Danielle St. Pierre (they/them) is the Co-Executive Director/Director of Education and is one of the co-founders of LLV. They have a passion for challenging the status quo and ensuring ALL voices will be heard. Danielle is based in Massachusetts and is dedicated to creating positive change in their community. Stephanie Pitcher Whittier (previously Fishman) (she/her) is Co-Executive Director/Director of Research and is one of the co-founders of LLV. A genealogist since 1999, Stephanie has a deep passion for telling the stories of the people who were the foundation of our local communities. She is a graduate student of Public History based in Columbus, Ohio. Read more about Stephanie.

Danielle Roscoe (she/her) is the Community Liaison and is one of the co-founders of LLV. Danielle has a passion to be a voice for those who struggle to be heard. Based in New Hampshire, Danielle’s dedication to helping her community have access to resources powers LLV’s networking with companies and schools to teach youth about their communities past, present, and future. Grace Aftandilov (she/her) is the Director of Political and Anthropological Research. Grace is an anthropologist and international and comparative political analyst. She joins the team driven by her desire to create and provide sustainable, accessible information repositories for the public. Her goals and experience are underscored by her deep commitment to knowledge-sharing and reclamation efforts. Grace is based in New York. Read more about Grace.

Valery León Quintero (she/they) is LLV’s Director of Transitional and Restorative Justice. Through this role, Valery centers the voices of communities to ensure equity, resilience, and love in the work that we do with them. Ultimately, Valery’s goal is to connect experiences to theory to ensure justice. Read more about Valery.

Grace Thayer (she/her) is the Grant Writer and Storytelling Educator for LLV. Grace joins our team with a background in writing and storytelling. She loves to utilize writing and language as a powerful tool to share diverse histories across a wide range of communities so that all voices are heard. Read more about Grace.

Sarah Murphy (she/her) is the Research and Education Specialist for LLV. Sarah recently graduated from Bridgewater State University with her Masters of Social Work and previously completed her Bachelor of Social Work. Sarah’s work is focused on fostering a sense of community and belonging within groups, creating a platform for individuals to use their voice, and amplifying the voices of those who are unable. Read more about Sarah.
